David Fromkin (* 27. August 1932 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin; † 11. Juni 2017 in New York City, New Yorkcite-ref-1[1]) war ein US-amerikanischer Jurist, Historiker und Autor.

Fromkin machte seinen Universitätsabschluss an der zur University of Chicago gehörenden University of Chicago Law School und arbeitete danach als Rechtsanwalt. Während der Vorwahlen der Demokratischen Partei bei den Präsidentschaftswahlen des Jahres 1972 war er der außenpolitische Berater des Kandidaten Hubert H. Humphrey. Als Anwalt diente er dem höchsten US-amerikanischen Militärgericht sowohl als Berater der Anklage als auch als Berater der Verteidigung. Er war Partner in der Anwaltskanzlei Simpson Thacher & Bartlett.

Fromkin war Professor für Geschichte, Internationale Beziehungen und Recht an der Boston University und Mitglied des Council on Foreign Relations.
